About
Hello
My name is Lancy!
I am a Chinese graduate student in the Japanese Visual Culture Programme at the National University of Singapore.
My research interests center on traditional Japanese culture, visual storytelling, and performance arts, especially the ways in which ancient aesthetics continue to influence modern media and design.

About the Project

Through this project, I hope to explore how the subtle emotional language of The Tale of Genji is reimagined within Noh theatre — not only as a literary or historical artifact, but as a living form of visual and emotional expression.
My fascination with Japanese traditional culture comes from a deep appreciation of its quiet beauty and symbolic depth — the way emotions are often expressed through stillness, gesture, or color rather than words. By creating this digital exhibition, I aim to bridge classical art and contemporary digital experience, allowing viewers to feel the delicate connection between memory, emotion, and form that defines Japanese aesthetics.
